What are the uses of oil proof paper and kraft paper respectively?
Kraft paper features high stiffness and tear resistance. Plain kraft is for outer packaging of dry food, gift wraps and paper bags. It is not greaseproof and cannot wrap oily food directly. Greaseproof paper has food-grade oil barrier. It is used as direct contact packaging for oily food like pastries, fried chicken, burgers, butter and cheese to stop oil leakage.
Uses of Kraft Paper (plain uncoated)
Outer package for dry food: dry bread, biscuits, nuts and grains
Packaging supplies: shopping paper bags, parcel packing, gift wrapping, box liner
Printing items: labels and tags with natural rustic look Note: Plain kraft leaks oil. Choose greaseproof kraft paper if oil resistance is required.
Uses of Greaseproof Paper
Bakery goods: croissants, cookies, cakes, butter and cheese wrapping
Fast food: hamburgers, fried chicken, french fries and greasy food liners
Plate liner & tray paper to avoid oil contamination Reminder: Standard greaseproof paper is NOT baking parchment. It cannot be used in high-temperature ovens, only for finished food packaging.
